A typed memorandum attached to two film containers indicates that this is the master film and soundtrack of the hour-long ceremonies at the Lincoln Memorial, Washington, D.C., on September 22, 1962, commemorating the centennial of the Emancipation Proclamation. During these ceremonies, the original draft of the proclamation in President Lincoln's hand, a document in the custody of New York State, was publicly displayed in Washington, D.C. for the first time.
